Surrender Bridge, Swaledale – Yorkshire Dales Canvas Print
Surrender Bridge
Standing high on the lonely moorland above Swaledale, Surrender Bridge is one of the Yorkshire Dales’ most recognisable landmarks. The traditional stone bridge carries the old moorland road across Old Gang Beck, close to the historic Surrender Smelting Mill and surrounded by the remains of the nineteenth-century lead-mining industry. The bridge is also crossed by the Coast to Coast Walk, making it a familiar sight to generations of long-distance walkers.
