Isle of Man Peaks from St Bees, Hannah Moor – Canvas Print

Isle of Man from St Bees, Hannah Moor – Coast to Coast

From the open ground of Hannah Moor above St Bees, the view stretches far across the Irish Sea to the distant outline of the Isle of Man, its form rendered with unusual clarity. Some 46 miles away, the twin peaks of Snaefell and Beinn-y-Phott rise distinctly above the horizon, their muted blue-grey tones contrasting with the brighter landscape of the Cumbrian coast.

In the foreground, freshly cut fields roll gently toward the headland, their clean lines and vivid greens drawing the eye outward to sea. The small form of St Bees Lighthouse sits quietly on the cliff edge, secondary to the wider composition, which is defined by distance, light and the rare visibility of land across open water.
