The Coast to Coast Path (and Cleveland Way) descends from Cold Moor to the Col below en route to Hasty Bank. The Col is known as Garfit Gap and provides a pass into Upper Bilsdale.

The large col at Garfit Gap is picturesque wnen viewed from the hamlet of Urra. Tthe foreground trees around Middle Heads and Garfit's Farm set off the pastoral colours around the col. The Wainstones on Hasty Bank are seen on the west drop from the ridge.

Whingroves, just beyond the Gap, is an industrial pheasant rearing farm. It was once occupied by Jack Garbutt, who enlisted to fight in the First World War. His actual name was John william Garbutt but he was known as Jack. He is the subject of a book written by Susan N Laffey entitled "the Bilsdale Bombardier. The book documents the life of an ordinary soldier who died during this war.

From the Coast to Coast path at Garfit Gap there is a clear view south along Upper Bilsdale towards Chop Gate.

Scanning to the west from the Wain Stones it is easy to make out the boundary wall between the Moor and Garfit Gap. The Coast to Coast path winds up the east side of Cringle Moor. This path is the steepest and longest climb of the Coast to Coast path along the Cleveland and Hambleton Hills.
